Holidays and Daylight Savings Time

Norwegian Holidays

On Norwegian public holidays you can count on shops and government offices to be closed.  It is a good idea to know when the holidays are so you can plan accordingly.

US Holidays

The Fulbright office observes Norwegian public holidays as well as US Federal holidays.  As a rule, we follow the working calendar of the US embassy in Olso.

Daylight Savings Time (“Sommertid”)

Norway observes the same daylight savings times as the EU. When adjusting your clock, remember the old saying “fall back, spring forward”:

Daylight savings ends: 2 a.m. last Sunday in October
Daylight savings starts:2 a.m. last Sunday in March
