The US-Norway Fulbright Grant Program

Whether you are an American or Norwegian citizen, the US-Norway Fulbright Foundation offers opportunities for you to study, lecture, or pursue research in any academic field.

For Norwegian Citizens, the US-Norway Fulbright Foundation offers a variety of grants and  special programs to travel for study, research or teaching purposes to the United States. Scholars and students are selected through a rigorous application and interview process and receive a high level of support ranging from visa processing to a comprehensive pre-departure orientation. Fulbright also offers a variety of Summer Institutes for Norwegian teachers and students to study and travel in the U.S. during summer vacation. The Summer Insitutes are organized by the U.S. Department of State.

Our office is also the first point of contact for US Citizens coming to Norway on a Fulbright exchange program. We organize programs and support throughout the year, including an arrival orientation in August and an annual Fulbright seminar and ski trip in February.

The US-Norway Fulbright Foundation offers Norwegian institutions many options for hosting an American scholar or researcher.  The Intercountry Lecturing Program is a short-term program.  Institutions may also host a traditional Fulbright scholar or researcher for 3-9 months.
